At the Annual General Meeting held on 3rd October 2015, the following ruling was approved:
"Any bull born on or after 1 January 2016 must be inspected and approved by the Society before any progeny from it may be registered. Such inspection should be carried out between the ages of 10 and 18 months old. The criteria for any bull to be approved for breeding will be decided by the Executive Committee from time to time and notified to the Members."
A guide for members and inspectors has been published and circulated in order that breeders are able to assess their bulls against the inspection criteria prior to committing bulls to Society inspection.
New registration procedure for pedigree bulls born on or after 1st January 2016
There are two options. Firstly, bulls notified to the Society with ‘intention to register’ within three months of birth will be subject to a £20 fee. Alternatively, bull calves notified as ‘birth notification only’ (free of charge) within three months of birth will be subject to the following fees if the Secretary is subsequently informed of intention to register:
3-6 months: £40 6-12 months: £60 12-18 months: £125
Bulls will only become fully registered upon passing inspection between 10 and 18 months of age. Members will be required to apply for their bulls to be inspected with a notice of at least one month to allow the Society time to make arrangements.
