Congratulations to the St Joseph family of Tollesbury in Essex, who have triumphed in the overall standings of the BWCS Virtual Show for the second year in a row, this time with their superb homebred second-calved cow Tollesbury Peach. Filmed suckling her heifer calf Tollesbury Pecan at home on the marshes alongside the Blackwater Estuary, this cow rose to the top of the largest class of the competition to qualify for the championship vote and was a hugely popular favourite with the public, firmly securing her place as Champion.
The BWCS Virtual Show 2021 saw another fantastic entry of cattle from herds across the UK! This year, entries were placed by judge Nell Matheson, experienced cattle breeder and former owner of the renowned Dadley herd near Frome in Somerset, now residing in Kyle of Lochalsh, Ross-shire.
The first class of the competition was for heifers born on or after 1st January 2020, and taking first prize was Templar Kazakh Maid from K & RP Harding, Leicestershire.
