Royal Three Counties Show 2019

BUMBLE BEE BAGS THE DOUBLE AT ROYAL THREE COUNTIES!

Amongst a huge entry of British Whites celebrating the centenary of their Herd Book at the Royal Three Counties Show from 14th - 16th June, the Brain family of the Lordswood herd in Warwickshire had exceptional success on both show days (Friday and Sunday) with several different animals! Their 2014-born cow, Hartsdesire Bumble Bee (bred by Miss E Hart) achieved the Female and Breed Championships in both sets of classes with her bull calf Lordswood Harold at foot. She was also awarded the individual Reserve Interbreed title in the Sunday Rare and Minority Breeds Show, later teaming up with stable mate Lordswood Leo to pick up the Reserve Interbreed Pair.

The Templar herd of Keith & Ro Harding also picked up a number of prizes across both days, with their 2016-born stock bull Woodbastwick Doublet (bred by Rotac Farms) crowned Male and Reserve Breed Champion on the Friday and Reserve Male Champion on Sunday, plus their own homebred junior heifer being awarded the brand new Dallyashes Halberd Perpetual Trophy for the Junior Championship on Friday. Presenting the award in acknowledgement of 'Hal', a favourite bull of hers, Miss Pip Perry was delighted to award the prize to Mr Harding and even more so knowing that Templar Ilex was in fact a daughter of the bull herself!

With such a fantastic turnout of cattle in this centenary year, the Society wishes to thank all of the exhibitors and supporters who put on a wonderful display in spite of the challenging ground conditions, and we look forward to the two remaining 2019 Centenary Celebration Events at the forthcoming Royal Norfolk and Royal Welsh shows.
