SHOW RESULTS: SHROPSHIRE COUNTY
It was a doubly successful day for Warwickshire-based breeders James Brain and Libby McGinn, as homebred animals from their Lordswood herd were awarded both the Breed Championship and Reserve at Shropshire County Show on Saturday 23 May. In the top spot under judge Mrs Angie Hamilton, Carmarthenshire, was the March 2024-born heifer Lordswood Maggie, with her full brother Lordswood Maxwell - born March 2025 - standing in reserve. Show results: South Suffolk
It was longstanding exhibitor Angela Dunn of the De Beauvoir herd, Essex, who took home the Breed Championship at South Suffolk Show on 10 May, this time marking an extra-special win having taken place on the 30th anniversary of the herd’s debut show outing at the same event in 1996. Winter Workshop hosted at Oldington

Young bull inspection rules updated
From 1 January 2026, the BWCS Bull Inspections Scheme will be subject to new minimum weight for age requirements. The BWCS Bull Inspections Scheme applies to all young bulls intended for pedigree registration, where bulls are usually inspected between 10 and 18 months of age, to collect breed data such as frame score and weight for age, and run through a checklist of basic criteria.
