At Mid Somerset Show held on Sunday 20th August, it was the turn of new member Chris Davis, Honiton, to take the top spot with senior heifer Tismans Peony, born March 2021, sired by East Woods Henry and bred by Mrs S Trafford. Purchased by Mr Davis earlier this year as part of the foundation of his Old Wolford herd, it was great to see this heifer meeting the approval of judge and fellow breeder Paul Pennington of the Oldington herd, Bridgnorth.
In the Reserve Breed Champion spot was the winner of both the calf class and the junior heifer class, February 2023-born Marshbrook Snowdrop from Elayna Astbury, Gloucester. Shown alongside her mother Marshbrook Blueberry in the cow class, this heifer is sired by Marshbrook Mallows Pride (EX90).
